Among the many positive attributes of our faith community here in Wake Forest is the fact that this church is just a fun place to be. Sunday proved to be one more outstanding example.
How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!
It is like precious oil poured on the head,
running down on the beard,
running down on Aaron’s beard,
down on the collar of his robe.

FUN DAY! We called it “Holy Hay Day,” and it is WFPC‘s unique take on the traditional fall festival, or Halloween alternative. The lower quadrant of our campus was transformed for the day, and hundreds of people – including scores of visitors – enjoyed food, fun, entertainment, and the genuine fellowship of good people who love one-another.
Not just food, mind you, but gourmet food, including the famous Cousins Maine Lobster food truck, the delectable Sweet Traditions cupcakes, and some amazing barbecue prepared by our “Fathers Who Aren’t in Heaven” young dad’s Bible study.
In a denomination where men’s ministry is mostly struggling or non-existent, WFPC currently offers five study groups for men. The newest gathering has brought together men with young children, and these guys stayed up literally all night long nursing the whole pig that made its way to many grateful Presbyterians at Holy Hay Day.
WFPC’s youth music group – Timeless Creation – played a strong set, then two other professional quality bands rocked the afternoon from the main stage. Add in games, hay-rides, and some seriously imaginative “trunk-or-treat” creations, and it’s no surprise everyone felt good all the way from their hearts down to their toes.
KINGDOM CULTURE! This is what church is all about! More than just showing up Sunday mornings for worship, it is our life together as a community of faith, where hundreds of socially diverse, all-over-the-map, politically dissimilar, unique, various-lifestyled, blessed children of God come together, love one-another, and gather as a vibrant community to create what I call a “Kingdom Culture,” around the simple fact of God’s love for us and our intention to follow Jesus.
