restoration on the Outer Banks…

IMG_1598It’s nice to wake up on the beach. It’s been far too long since Rebekah and I last worked our toes into the sand and listened to the sound of waves crashing on the shore. But we’re here now, and we don’t plan on doing much else for the next couple of days.

My parents have been talking about visiting the Outer Banks ever since they moved to North Carolina, so Sunday afternoon we all headed east on 64 until we crossed the long bridge to Nags Head, then drove up the narrow sand spit as far as Corolla.

The very first thing we did, before even checking into the hotel, was to stop for dinner at a seafood restaurant. My soft-shell crab sandwich was the perfect reminder that we’re not in Wake Forest, we’re not at work, and business-as-usual has been given a few well-deserved days off.

I may post a few pictures on this blog. I may not. Watch this space.

Peace – I know we’re enjoying some – DEREK

  1. That looks fabulous. In August my husband and I are planning on taking a hiking trip…he used to do those things before we got together, so i am allowing him to take me on an adventure. We haven’t decided yet where we are going…thinking of Indiana. Great pictures!!
