I pray that the eyes of your heart will have enough light to see what is the hope of God’s call, what is the richness of God’s glorious inheritance among believers. – Ephesians 1:18

This morning I’m hauling the amazing and wonderful grandchildren back to Richmond. So I have no time to process and share my photographs from Thursday evening’s final night of VBS.

So this morning I’ll simply post this one image, with the following affirmation: “If you’re ever feeling blue, or discouraged, or cynical about this world, then give yourself the gift of time in the presence of children. One, two, a classroom, or a boatload at VBS – take your pick. Some say small children still speak the language of heaven; I say in many respects they are the language of heaven.”

I understand that I have a lot to learn, every day; and – often – God uses children to teach me.

I pray that each one of us will engage this day with eyes open to see what God wants to show us, ears open to hear, and hearts open wide enough to receive – DEREK
