Four Kids and a Natural History Museum

As of yesterday, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences has a new fan (that would be me, BTW). Thursday was an icy cold day – creeping up to maybe 28-degrees – and the very best option for a houseful full of kids turned out to be a trip to the museum.

It was a real treat to hang out with my niece Hannah along with her four children, and the museum – spread out over four floors and extremely user-friendly – made for a fun, educational, extremely engaging venue.

I could write in detail about the exhibits, but – considering how good these images are – it’s going to be more effective just to look.

1-IMG_3973Hannah is my late brother Geoff’s only child. She lives in Florida and it’s not easy for a single mom to make the trek all the way to North Carolina – so visits with my folks (her paternal grandparents) are few and far between.

Nobody knew it was going to remain below freezing the entire trip when she booked the flight. The great-grandparents are fragile and their house is small, but you really can’t send Florida kids outside to play when it’s barely 20-degrees.

So enjoy the photographs. I’ll caption a few in case you’re curious as to what you’re looking at, but most of them are simply art – God’s good creative work expressed in my niece Hannah and her four children.

  1. *please click on the link that says “Read more of this Post”* Derek Maul writes about Geoff’s daughter, Hannah, visiting him. At the end of the article you may click on the photos. I recall the 2 older children’s faces BUT they have grown so much.
