Morning in the Garden of Light and Promise #FlowerPower

See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. – Matthew 6:25-34

Thursday morning Rebekah left home promptly for an early meeting, so I took a fresh mug of coffee out onto the deck and watched the light gradually illuminate all the glory of spring.

I still have this lingering Easter-week feeling of promise and certainty and it is beautifully affirmed by what is going on in the garden. Of course it is God’s garden, and there are no agnostic, or atheist, or doubting flowers.

1-DSC_2003The “birds of the air and the flowers of the field” do not cast aspersions at the Creator. There are no ChrEasters in my garden (Christmas and Easter believers). Instead they all respond to the morning by opening wide, drinking in the light, and then shining with all everything that they have, one-hundred percent reflections of the daily imperative that is light and life.

After a while I picked up my camera, meditatively, and recorded some of what I witnessed.

Would that we, God’s children, acknowledged our Creator with such eloquent offerings of praise – DEREK

  1. Lovely photos. “Chreasters”…that’s hilarious. Sadly, the truth behind the word is not funny at all, and actually true.”
