Sunday worship and gorgeous spring colors

And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. – 1 John 4:17-18

Okay. So I have a simple (two part) post this Sunday morning:

First, please join us for WFPC’s Facebook Live Feed worship at 10:00. You can connect via our church website or by going directly to the Wake Forest Presbyterian Church Facebook page. Rebekah will be preaching on the topic of fear (a popular emotion all around the world right now), and I will be offering a new version of Psalm 23 with the help of my mandolin.

Spring around Wake Forest:

IMG_E9188Then, here are some “make you smile” photos from the amazing virtuoso performance that is Wake Forest in the Springtime every year.

A couple of days ago I walked into town to do some banking, and I grabbed a few photos along the way; then – Saturday – I captured some images of the azaleas in our front garden (well, the ones the deer have not yet eaten!).

IMG_E9226Enjoy the photos, but don’t forget to stay tuned to this space, as I will be sharing more in response to both worship and my first ever – and likely comical – teaching experience via Zoom (I’ll be using the virtual platform with my Sunday morning adult education class).

These are challenging days, friends, but our God is not only faithful but full of surprises. Who knows what might possibly happen next?

Love, mercy, grace, hope, peace, and promise – DEREK

  1. Chuck & I logged in participating in your church’s live-streaming service today. Thanks to everyone who made that possible. Tell Rebecca that we appreciated her sermon about hope and faith in the midst of fear. Good special music, by the way! Will the service also be available for people to watch later in the week? I would like to recommend it to church friends.

    • Hi, Peggy!
Always good to hear from you.
Yes, the feed should remain on the church Facebook page all week. Also it will be posted on the Wake Forest Presbyterian Church YouTube site. So available in a couple of places.
Love and peace to you both – D
