I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.- Luke 15:7

Sunday’s opening song

Here at Maul Hall, we are still struggling with connectivity issues, along with all the details and aggravations that come with a residential lightning strike (see “Lost – because I’m not looking up”). It’s surprising how laissez-faire our internet service provider is, considering the exorbitant amount of money we pay each month to be hooked up!

So here I go again, blogging via the tiny screen of my phone, squinting at the minuscule typeface, “typing” with this laborious one-finger technique.

C070C63E-6EDC-48A2-BAC2-66B415B9C11DWhat I really want to do this morning is to hook you in with yesterday’s worship experience (click here). Rebekah preached, Katherine and John led worship beautifully, the praise team sounded great, I shared a song with my guitar, and our AV guru, Jim, stepped it up a notch with some great camera work, including a nicely choreographed church campus tour behind the words during the first hymn.

Sunday’s message centered around the fact that God’s love is constant, personal, unconditional, wide open, and relentless.

Then the song I shared – “My Redeemer is Faithful and True” – was exactly in tune with the heart of Rebekah’s teaching and preaching:

  • 33562069-D1B0-4C9F-A193-D65E1D03EDA4Lost? My Redeemer is faithful and true.
  • Uncertain? My Redeemer is faithful and true.
  • Confused? My Redeemer is faithful and true.
  • In need of rescue? My Redeemer is faithful and true.
  • In need of some light along the way… some reassurance… some encouragement… some grace… a little mercy? Our Redeemer is faithful and true.

I pray that you have an amazingly week, and rest in the certain knowledge that you are deeply loved – DEREK

  1. I feel your pain about your connectivity Derek! Ours went out with the storm last Monday night and have been waiting for a service person to show up! Bailed on us Saturday afternoon (causing me to miss time with my grand daughters!!) and rescheduled for today between 12 and 4 o’clock!!! I pray you will have better service!!
