They ran throughout the whole area, carrying sick people on mats to wherever they heard he was. Wherever he went—in villages, cities, or the countryside—they brought the sick out to the marketplaces. They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed. – Mark 6:55-56

This morning I have a big case of “writer’s block.” However, rather than not being able to string two words together, it’s the opposite. There is literally way too much to write about and a multitude of directions I could go.

Additionally, there are four new books rattling around in my head – each with their own project folder on my computer. They are vying for attention and in various stages of “completion.” Two are inspirational (both at the outline stage), one is my new novel (25% complete), and then my latest idea is a teaching memoir (I have the title and a thousand stories ready to dive into).

There are three things I want to briefly mention today:

Thanks to all of you for the overwhelming show of love and concern for Geoffrey William. He is still hanging out in the NICU, but Monday (and now today) he got to spend a lot of time with his mama and his daddy.

I can’t wait to see the reaction of David and Beks when they get to meet him their new baby brother! They are beyond excited and they are both old enough (7 and 9) to be a lot of help.

Our nation:

The number one reason we are the world’s leading democracy is the simple fact of 240 years of confidence in free and fair elections, coupled with the graceful transition of power. This election – as all elections – is not about Donald Trump, it is not about Joe Biden, nor is it about any other politician. This election is about America, and if we are not careful America will lose this election.

Jesus:

and all who touched him were healed. – Mark 6:56

The story of the people reaching out to touch Jesus and being healed in the process is a call to each one of us to be the healing presence of Jesus in every aspect of our living.

Christians so filled with light and love that anyone who comes into contact with us is automatically touched by grace.

Jesus didn’t really have to think about “doing” anything, he simply told the truth about the Good News by “being.” The result of being with Jesus was all kinds of healing. We too are called to make people whole in a similar way.
