more spring magic in North Carolina!

I will pour out water upon thirsty ground
    and streams upon dry land.
I will pour out my spirit upon your descendants
and my blessing upon your offspring.
They will spring up from among the reeds
    like willows by flowing streams.

Isaiah 44:3-4
– onions… good

This is one of those days with little time for posting my blog. However, I do have a few weekend photos to share that should offer a flavor of how life is right now. Because we have, as a sweet serendipity, been gifted with a late extension of spring weather that has been – in a word – glorious.

A few days of rain plus a few days of sunshine, then mix in cooler temperatures and there you have the right formula for encouraging spring growth.

So much growth my friend Larry (who is a key player in our amazingly productive church community garden) texted me this morning to say there are so many strawberries would I please pick a few before they are wasted? So I happily obliged. “And grab a few onions while you’re there,” he said.

I was so overwhelmed with the bounty of everything I am going to have to return with my Nikon DSLR to capture some images.

It’s all so emblematic of God’s rich and generous love. Both at church and around the garden here at home. How is it Jesus puts it (Luke 6:38)? “A good measure… pressed down… shaken together… running over… poured into your lap.”

Have a wonderful Saturday. We will talk more tomorrow – DEREK
