If you are a regular reader, then I am glad to see you return – it is the support and encouragement of people like you that makes this project so rewarding.
If you are new to this site, then let me encourage you to take a look around. Read some posts, scroll through a few photo galleries, and consider using the “follow” button (it’s on the “About” page) to make sure you don’t miss anything going forward.
Because I continually update this blog there will necessarily be some changes. Partially it’s my curiosity, but mostly I am trying to make the format more navigable for you, the reader. This week I’m learning about “a static front page.” I believe this means the page you are reading now stands in front of my daily posts, so please scroll down beyond the next section if you are looking to read some content.
I am an author, a novelist, a former newspaper writer, a speaker, a teacher, a student, a photographer, a father, a grandfather, and the most grateful husband of a beautiful and talented wife, Rebekah. You can find my books, if you are interested, at my Author Page at Amazon.com
FINALLY,I’d like to explain my purpose. The blog subtitle says it best: “Faith-based commentary for people who think.” Everything I write, say, and do is grounded in my understanding that I am a Child of God who is privileged to engage this Great Adventure (living) as a follower of The Way of Jesus. So it is my intention – as I touch on all aspects of life from faith to politics to photography to grandchildren (and so much more) – to write with a voice that is grateful, and encouraging, and faithful, and invitational.
So again, “welcome” to this site. It is my prayer that you grow, continually, into the light and the grace and the promise of a life that is full and true and rich in faith.
The James passage describes wisdom as a gift. To me that rings true because I know the difference between the limitations of my own understanding and the insight and discernment that come into play when the Spirit of God is involved.
