It is not too late to get Christmas right this year. It is not too late to join the Magi and follow the star. It is not too late to begin the journey home.
When we understand the implications of Grace, then conflict necessarily lives outside the bounds of grace’s covering
filtered through the lens of God’s spectacular initiative of love and grace in Jesus.
Think about it… could there be any better way to get our hearts ready for Advent and Christmas other than first filling them with gratitude?
I know I’ve used the idea a lot recently, but I really like the notion of Jesus being God’s invitation. And an invitation – of course – never really takes effect until we respond… and show up… and (the best part) participate.
Merry Christmas, brothers and sisters, friends and family. Take a moment to check on what is powering your celebration. It may not hurt to do it on your knees.
Is prurience our new national pastime? It’s Advent, let’s try talking about hope, peace, love, and joy instead!
I’m all for it! Here in North America we can party with a purpose, and this Good News of Jesus is spectacular in every way! So bring on the glitter, the glitz, the bling, the lights, the gift-giving, and the noise! Christmas is one celebration worth going over the top for.
