the beginning of Everything New (don’t miss our last Sunday in Brandon…)

Sunday morning: Rebekah is waiting to see you in church one more time....
Sunday morning: Rebekah is waiting to see you in church one more time….

Today’s post is very simple. Rebekah and I are waking up this morning on the fulcrum, the tipping point of this Great Adventure.

Today is both the last day we’ll be at First Presbyterian Church of Brandon… AND the first day of Everything New. At some point during today, we’ll edge forward enough to tip the balance, and then we will tumble – nowhere left to go but rapidly forward – into our new life.

So if you are anywhere in the vicinity of Brandon this morning, please join us for worship at First Presbyterian Church. We will be gathering in gratitude for God’s grace, in thanksgiving for God’s constant faithfulness, and in celebration of God’s amazingly creative purposes as they are worked out in our lives.

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you.We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. (Colossians 1:9-12)

more and better life...
On into the New Great Adventure.

TEARS AND JOY: We’ll shed some tears today, and we will drive away with lumps in our throats and hearts heavy with the pain of goodbye; but we are leaving with 100% confidence, and unswerving faith that this is exactly what God wants. It’s what God wants for us, it’s what God wants for Wake Forest Presbyterian Church, and it’s what God wants for First Presbyterian Church of Brandon. The result is going to be some astounding good news, both for the Kingdom of God, and for the practical application of the Gospel of Love.

Sometime in the next few days I’ll publish a post that says more about First Brandon. Stay tuned, and stay focused on what it means to live The Life-Charged Life as followers of the Living Way of Jesus.

Peace and blessings – DEREK

  1. God bless you both in your new adventure. Remember that God is calling you to Wake Forest Presbyterian and He has secretly disguised it by calling Rebekah as the Senior Pastor. :-))
I love you my brother and sister.
