This morning I’m having technology issues. Grrrrrr. I know I’m a little late on this, but last night I downloaded the new iOS-7 for my iPhone 4S.
I knew the download would take a while so I did it while I was sleeping. Of course that meant my alarm didn’t go off so I overslept: iOS-7 one, Derek zero.
Then, when my iPhone was asking me all these questions to log in, I messed up my Apple ID. Twice: iOS-7 two, Derek zero.
At one point my phone wanted me to confirm and update billing information. My credit card wasn’t handy so I tried to back out of the window. This was halfway through downloading updates to seven Apps: iOS-7 three, Derek zero.
At one point I think I heard Siri snickering. Yes, she does that: iOS-7 four, Derek zero.
So I tried checking my email. No “in-box:” iOS-7 five, Derek zero.
WIN-WIN: Little by little I’ve been regaining functionality. I went to the iTunes store and cleared up the billing info; I closed out all the new App updates and I’m handling them one at a time; I rebooted the system and found my Gmail inbox; I restored facebook without losing any information.
iOS-7 five, Derek five. Now I think it’s at least a tie.
TODAY’s WORD: SO… it’s fitting that I turn to another piece of technology for today’s post. I recorded my first video-post of 2014, and I’d like you to take a look. Essentially, I’m sharing another shot of enthusiasm for this New Year. I’m convinced that there’s absolutely nothing that has the power to come between us and God’s purposes for our lives, if only we step forward in confidence and in faith.
Or, as Paul wrote so compellingly in Romans 8: “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
