Photo-highlights from a good week

“I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can see something of the future he has called you to share. So that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers. Oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength!” Ephesians 1:18 (Living Bible/Message)

Five Photo Friday Plus

Okay, so the traditional “five photos” concept has been expanded. I wanted to wrap up the October photo collection and it took six (seven if you count the one of me).

This was as week with a lot of photo-opportunity. We had a huge weekend at church, said “goodbye” to the family piano after 40 years, enjoyed some memorable dinners with friends, experienced the first real week of fall, and went out together for a fun date-night.

Here are the images, in order:

  1. The space where the piano stood is no longer empty. We found wall-mounts and it’s a great place for Rebekah’s ukulele and my mandolin. Music has always been an important element of our life together.
  2. I love the way the fall light streams into the living room in the morning. Just like music, an abundance of light is fundamental to the way we like to live. Yes, just like the scripture above.
  3. Date night was a lot of fun this week. We went to the upscale “North Hills Center” in North Raleigh for dinner and some jaw-dropping window-shopping. My take-away is this: “Would you like to own a home and send your children to college… or would you rather shop at Anthropologie and say goodbye to all your money now?”
  4. The Halibut on wild rice was part of my presentation Monday evening when we hosted good friends. Good food, great company, wonderful conversation; that’s what I call a perfect evening.
  5. The Seared Tuna on salad. Fabulous.
  6. My reading material this week. Lots of Bible, along with a couple of good study/inspirational books. This brings me back to the scripture above. So encouraging that I’m going to repeat it ahead of the images.

Keep pouring yourself a cup of coffee and taking some time to read the scriptures! #CoffeeAndScripture
