Another Beautiful Weekend (photos of Max Retriever)

If I were teaching Sunday school…

– with Max at the park Saturday

Note: I’m sorry, friends, but there is no “If I were teaching Sunday school” lesson this weekend. I poured all of my teaching into my visit with the New York Presbyterian men Saturday morning – see yesterday’s post: “My New York Saturday.

So if you are looking for something to go with your Sunday lesson I’d say, “Go with that.” Seriously, there is a lot to talk about and I think you’d enjoy it.

Max:

Saturday afternoon I took Max for a leisurely walk and we stopped by Pride Rock in the park. Then – as I have no grandchildren handy to pose on it – I asked Max to sit still and look beautiful. Apparently looking beautiful isn’t difficult when you’re a Golden.

So enjoy this beautiful weekend, and don’t make the mistake of skipping the opportunity to show up at church for worship. Life is good and we have a lot to be thankful for.

I appreciate the way Paul phrases this essential intention in Colossians:

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

Colossians 3:16

Peace and blessings – Derek
