Let the teaching of Christ live inside you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Saturday morning, walking Max while the coffee brewed, I noticed how the fresh new sunlight spilling into our neighborhood seemed to have a surreal buoyancy about it. And the air tasted sweet, too, as if washed clean by the thunderstorm that came through in the night.

So I took my first mug out into the garden and the plants had that sense about them too. Just an extra measure of life, something I may not have noticed had I not had my spiritual eyes open at the time.

Sometimes insight is not so much about whiz-bang spectacular as it is simply paying attention.

Today is Sunday. It’s the day God has encouraged us to take pause, to turn our attention toward our Creator, and to worship. Not just our attention, it turns out, but the focus of our intention too.
