My soul glorifies the Lord
Luke 1:46-48
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has been mindful
of the humble state of his servant
At some point this weekend I intend to create a short “devotional video” to use as a blog post alternative. I had it in the works for this morning (Friday 23rd) but a fairly long power outage took care of my best laid plans!
Here, instead, is a short glimpse of the Maul Hall living room, with all the warmth and love we can imagine and share headed your way this Christmas.
Tonight we are looking at the coldest freeze of our ten years here in North Carolina, with temperatures getting down into single digits before dawn, and Christmas Eve slated to top out at a toasty 27-degrees.
It would be a good night for the power to stay on, especially with all the good cooking I have planed over the next couple of days.
Look for something more substantial later today, or tomorrow; but for now, enjoy around 20-seconds of comfortable, relaxed Maul Hall Christmas.
With love from us to all of you – DEREK
The beautiful Christmas lit room was quite enough to ignite my joy! Merry Christmas. ann

Derek, God bless you and Rebecca and Max. Have a glorious Christmas celebration tonight and tomorrow. I have a favorite clip from Merry Christmas Charlie Brown, when Linus says, “I can tell you what Christmas is all about Charlie Brown. An angel appeared to the shepherds and said to them, ‘Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth, good will toward men.’ That’s what Christmas is all about Charlie Brown.”
