Energy and Love Multiplied (our niece’s wedding day, Part 1)

Be glad in the Lord always! Again I say, be glad! Let your gentleness show in your treatment of all people. The Lord is near.

Philippians 4:4-5

I have honestly no idea where to begin. I am literally overwhelmed by amazing photographs and stories. But I have to start somewhere so this is it.

Lindsay and Johnny brought a lot with them to Friday’s celebration. They showed up with love, with commitment, with the amazing passion and energy of youth, and they showed up with a support system of family and friends pretty much unequaled in our experience.

Two hundred fifty people gathered for a beautiful wedding, officiated by Rebekah, and then moved into a reception where all the joy burst forth like an uncorked bottle of champagne. Shaken champagne. The energy and the joy got all over everyone and it was a force of nature.

I plan to write more about the service, the simple beauty of faithful, worshipping believers all coming down to the table to share in the Lord’s Supper.

… And I plan to write about family. There will also be some amazing photographs from the rehearsal dinner.

… And I plan to write about faith. About how the single most important guest at the wedding didn’t so much turn the water into wine as fill our hearts with such fulness and joy.

But for today, just to get the ball rolling. Here is a short video of the bride and groom making their way to the classic Vespa waiting to take them away, as well as a handful of stills.

Enjoy!

And be thankful for the beauty and energy and passion of youth. I know I am, and it has quite exhausted me! – DEREK
