The headwaiter called the groom and said, “Everyone serves the good wine first. They bring out the second-rate wine only when the guests are drinking freely. You kept the good wine until now.” This was the first miraculous sign that Jesus did in Cana of Galilee. He revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.

John 2:10-11

Rebekah has this take on John 2 that she often talks about at weddings. Then I picked up on the idea and ran with it in one of my books, 10 Life-Charged Words.

Essentially, what we both feel is that if Jesus is involved, then anything (the wine, the party, the marriage, the future, the life – anything at all) is off-the charts better.

Add Jesus to the equation, and whatever it is that we’re up to has the potential to ramp up to the best of the best of the best.

This is our story. This is also our family story. Not perfection, not by any means, but the Jesus piece that brings out the abundance, the goodness, the life, and the joy.

It was that kind of a wedding. And I think today’s photographs get at that quite well.

Life, firing on all cylinders. Sometimes all you can do is to sit back and let the goodness and the abundance wash over you.

It is such a privilege to be a good news storyteller! “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news” (Isaiah 52:7)!
