Unless the Lord builds the house,
Psalm 127
the builders labor in vain.
One of the serendipities of July 4th was the relaxed evening we experienced enjoying the hospitality and friendship of Alicia’s parents, Chris and Clark Pashby.
The Pashbys have a lovely mid-century home in one of the many inviting and beautifully maintained neighborhoods that characterize much of Midland’s residential milieu.
Gracious living, of course, requires gracious people, and the Pashbys (pictured here with us at Monday’s Loons baseball game) fit the definition to a T.
Having in-law families whose company you enjoy is a blessing for which we are deeply thankful. Another plus is that we will all be going to church together this weekend.
Our son Andrew not only married a beautiful woman (ten years ago yesterday) he married into a strong, generous, gracious, faith-filled family. For this, and so many other blessings, we are grateful.
If I have time this week I may take my readers on a walking tour of some local neighborhoods, and photograph a few more of the mid-century gems that comprise my absolute favorite style of home architecture.
Here are just a few of the photographs that help to tell this part of the story: DEREK
