“Teach Your Children Well” – A few minutes of classic Rebekah

– Worship August 20 at HMPC

He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Micah 6:8
– Rebekah winning the hearts of the children

Sunday morning I got up extra early, stopped by the hospital to help my mother eat her breakfast, then met Rebekah in Raleigh for church.

It was another good worship service, made additionally interesting because Rebekah had been asked to do the “Time with Young Disciples” or “Children’s Moment.”

She approached the opportunity with her usual verve, enthusiasm, humor, wisdom, and skill.

Rebekah loves children, she is passionate about God’s word, and she is a natural storyteller. All this adds up to a message that resonated with both the children and the church full of adults. Somehow she manages to avoid talking over the children’s heads while at the same time not talking under the adults’.

Maybe it’s because the good news message is always the right message, and always on point, regardless of age.

If you have a little time to listen, I believe you will enjoy hearing a few minutes of classic Rebekah.

So have an amazing Monday, full with light and love and mercy and grace. And, always, DO justice, LOVE kindness, and WALK humbly with God – DEREK
