Click on this image – the gift of wonder

– sunset from the pool – Tuesday afternoon

When I consider your heavens,
the work of your hands,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,

Psalm 8:3

Just a couple of pictures for today. I want you to look at them both, and breathe in the wonder of this amazing world we are so privileged to inhabit.

Tuesday afternoon, just before dinner, I took a few laps in the open air pool. I had the water to myself. Then the light changed, and I felt a deep sense of peace and calm flow over me. I leaned up on the edge of the pool to look over the stern (we were heading west northwest toward Jamaica) and noticed the soft blue light turn into muted yellows and golds as the sun approached the seamless horizon in the wide open Caribbean.

Later, on my late evening walk, I stopped to capture this image of the moon, splashing light all over the calm seas.

God casts this same light on all the children of our war torn world, all the nations, all the factions and races and religions. We are all blessed with life, with light, and with the opportunity to know love.

Each new day we can choose, and we can shine. This gives me hope.

  1. The open vastness of the ocean truly allows the sky to take center stage. The ocean is it’s audience.
