My friend Phil has a theory that the Lord, having made teenagers, felt constrained to make amends and so created the golden retriever.

Max had a haircut. Turns out he’s not so overweight as we thought. Yes, he’s still 105-pounds; but everything is nicely in balance and there was a trim(ish), fairly athletic-looking dog under all that fur!
Typically we don’t have that much off, but since the move Max has missed a couple of groomings and there was a lot of matting to deal with. The lady at “PupKisses” in Tarboro – Wendy – did an excellent job and we think he looks great.
But we have – I hope and pray – temporarily thwarted his apparent goal of getting a three-inch layer of hair to cover the entire house! We do still see “fur drifts” and the occasional “fur-tumbleweed” move across the floor when a heating vent hits at the right angle.
So I took him to church to show off to all his admirers in the office, and he got his first visit to the sanctuary. Confirmed, I really do believe he is a Presbyterian.
Enjoy your “Max fix” for today, and also take this opportunity to be reminded that Golden Retrievers have their theology right: Thankful, always; grateful for every moment; just happy to be alive and with people; today is without fail their favorite day ever; tomorrow will be the same.
This is the day the Lord has made;
Psalm 118:24
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Max is a handsome Dude in a loose mood!!
Max’s theology sounds like I want mine to be during these Golden years!
