Slow Progress from a Soggy Week (five images for Photo Friday)

Depend on the Lord.
Trust in him, and he will help you.
He will make it as clear as day that you are right.
Everyone will see that you are being fair. Trust in the Lord and wait quietly for his help. – Psalm 37:5-7

Having this tropical storm blow through seems to have put just about everything else on hold. I enjoyed the opportunity to make good progress in my book, but am conscious that there is only so much time available and still so very much to get done.

Especially over in Wake Forest, where our house is essentially shrugging off any attempts we make to pack up and move. I know, logically, that every task we check off amounts to real progress; in practice, however, the light at the end of the tunnel appears increasingly out of reach.

But things look slow over on this end too. Other than pressure-washing to loosen the exterior paint I’m not sure that anything has happened at the “new” house this week.

We did take two sets of friends over to look around and everyone agrees that the potential is exciting. But Rebekah and I are not the ones running the project and so we wait. If not patiently at least expectantly.

So this is all I have for this week’s “Photo Friday.” Two images featuring friends in front of the renovation, one showing our Tarboro storage unit – slowly filling up, one from a delicious meal with our friends Faye and Jerry and one classic front porch shot from here in our historic neighborhood.

I promise some more intentional photography in the coming days. I believe it’s been too long since I took my camera for a walk around the neighborhood.

Peace and blessings – DEREK
