There is so much that I want to write about today. But I have no time. Instead I hope you will enjoy these images from my walk with Max Sunday morning. Fall is probably my favorite time of the year and we are enjoying our first good look at how Tarboro shines when the town is dressed in its autumn colors.

Walking along Saint David Street, up to and around the Town Common via Wilson, Park Avenue and Main. Then back down our favorite street – Saint Patrick, before circling around our church campus and back home again. It’s a beautiful one mile loop and I get to enjoy hundreds of trees and literally millions of leaves.

So many different trees, so many unique variations, so much glorious color. Later in the day Rebekah and I went into Lowes hardware to choose a paint color and it was a little disappointing to find such a limited array; so little brilliance compared to the riot of dynamic hues along the streets of our historic downtown.

We can try all we like, but nothing begins to compare to the creativity and imagination and literal joy that God splashes all over creation.

Especially in the fall. But of course I will likely say “especially in the winter” at some point, then the same again in the spring and the summer months.

But the fact of it is, as the Apostle Paul points out so persuasively in Romans, self evident. God’s spirit constantly at work, animating all that we see in this beautiful world; God’s love and joy shared with each one of us via the creation we engage every single day.
