And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. – 2 Corinthians 9:8
Here’s an alternative read for those who are just too tired of anything even vaguely related to today’s election.
Over the past few days Rebekah and I have been full-on working to take care of many things at the Wake Forest house. Some of the photographs are well worth sharing and a few of the stories too.
First I have to report that this moving business is more than a little unsettling for Max, who is being introduced to the new house, living at the rental house and spending a lot of time back at the Wake Forest house.

Saturday, with both vehicles packed to the hilt, I forgot to leave a spot for our rather huge puppy. Consequently Max ended up siting on the floor on the front passenger side of the SUV. No room to lay down. In the next photo – Monday afternoon – you can see that he claimed is seat early on then refused to budge!
Meanwhile, in the middle of making really good progress in the garage, Rebekah kept saying those words you don’t want to hear when the only correct choices are “Goodwill” or “The dump.” The words are, “I think I could find a use for that…”
No, we absolutely could not find a use for that. This is why said item has been occupying an unopened box on a shelf in the garage for more than eleven years. Repeat after me: We. Will. Never. Need. This.
I do confess, however, a bit of a soft spot for the “Mr. Potato Head,” saved from the Andrew and Naomi era back in our early years.
My favorite picture today is from the house on Saint Patrick Street. You can see me happily standing in the middle of the kitchen. You can also see where Aaron and Eddie managed to find replacement boards for the floor. This is wonderful! I am beginning to see myself cooking in this space.
Also, the new old flooring has been installed in the side entry porch. There is so much good stuff happening! Seeing the floors once they are refinished is going to be a real treat.
So enjoy the photos. And keep coming back for more. Fun fact, the more clicks and views and shares recorded here, the more likely it is that my next book will be picked up by a publisher. Every little share helps.
As the opening scripture pointed out, God blesses us abundantly, in all things and at all times. We have all that we need and we love to tell the good news story.
Peace and blessings – DEREK
