November 2024 has brought us to the end of Rebekah’s one-year contract to serve here in Tarboro. But of course, and as most of you already know, A) she has extended for six months, and B) we have decided to move here permanently.
The month has been busy – too busy for a couple of supposedly retired people. But there is a lot going on. We have been back and forth to Wake Forest numerous times, down to Florida for our niece Jordan’s wedding, working on prepping our Wake Forest home to sell, facilitating the ongoing restoration and renovation of “Maul-Hall East” in Tarboro and deeply involved in the life of Howard Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Also featured you will find my new Taylor guitar (thanks, mum and dad), Geoffrey’s Big Number Four birthday, Rebekah and I “kitting up” for Poland and photography celebrating both the beauty of autumn and progress at the new house.
Max, through it all, has remained a constant rock of calm and unconditional positive regard. He is a good dog in every possible sense of the word.
Stay tuned for a lot more between now and our upcoming trip to Poland. I have some writing to share about the renovation, my new book, and a review of one of the most epic years of my life.
My one regret for this November image collection is not having had time to put all else aside and concentrate on some serious fall photography. You may not, then, find so much that qualifies as art. But I can guarantee this; you will find story, and if I had to chose between the two then story will always win.
