Praise the Lord!
For he has heard my cry for mercy.
The Lord is my strength and shield.
I trust him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.
I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. – Psalm 28:7-8
Tuesday was a great day! Early morning with the men’s Bible study, all day celebrating one of my favorite anniversaries with Rebekah, a lunch date together, then sunshine and 72-degrees, walking through the Town Common.
Sure, it is still winter, and we had brutally cold temperatures during January, but the temporary hint of springtime has come as a welcome respite even for this confirmed lover of all four seasons.
Then walking – or should I say sauntering – through the glorious sunlight in the perfect afternoon, simply drinking in the goodness and the color and the massive presence of the ancient trees, some still showing off their winter skeletal architecture but with a carpet of bright green beneath.
Rebekah and I are reading through the Psalms as part of our morning devotions. Tuesday was Psalm 28 and the words from verse 7 ring so true: The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving!”
