Tarboro: muted beauty in the misty morning

– Tarboro: Main at Saint James

“I saw old Autumn in the misty morn stand shadowless like silence, listening to silence” – Thomas Hood.

In case you mist it (“missed” it!!), here are a few photographs from early Wednesday morning here in Tarboro. We were officially under a “dense fog advisory.” But it’s not that thick; instead we enjoyed these misty, ethereal, semi-opaque conditions of muted focus.

This morning was, in effect, a “dense charm” advisory.

Looking at Howard Memorial through the old Town Cemetery, the Town Square and the courthouse, the intersection of Main at Saint James, the brewery and theater marquee, and then Main as it goes through the Town Common.

Tarboro already has the classy “Historic Community” vibe. Add some early morning mist and we’re in the best of Southern Charm territory for sure.

Enjoy our beautiful town every day, just open your eyes and it becomes easy to be grateful.
