Fresh Air, Sunshine and a Golden Retriever

– Max helping me with the gardening

– Max being huge!

Saturday was a gardening day. Actually, it was just two or three hours. But it felt like an entire day so there you go.

My primary task was to rake up the leaves that are left over from the fall. And also to pull weeds. I did a pretty good job, but also got tired much too quickly.

Part of the tired was due to the sneezing. I have discovered, by the way, a foolproof way to initiate the onset of spring allergies if they have not already started. All you have to do is to rake leaves that are 50% decomposed and 100% full with mold from all the winter moisture. Then, just breathe.

It’s easy. The allergies will kick in right away.

– Mr. Max is always happy to see people

But what a gorgeous day! Hovering around 65-69 degrees along with perfect sunshine. What could possibly be better? So Max followed me outside then positioned himself on the front walkway, happily sniffing the air and occasionally standing up to greet people.

Fresh air, sunshine, the promise of spring… and a golden retriever. Sounds idyllic, doesn’t it? Well that’s because it pretty much is.

And I will be taking that sense of gratitude to church with me this morning. I hope that I see you there.

Peace and more peace – DEREK
