A handful of travel day photos – “Oh, that you would choose life…”

“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life… – Deuteronomy 30:19

– travel day

I love this photograph of the Michigan countryside on our flight approach coming into the MBS (Midland, Bay City, and Saginaw) Airport. The day was consumed by travel and dominated by the after-effects of yesterday’s epic bike crash (see My First Bike Wreck), so this morning my writing is going to take back seat.

Besides, I have to get our grandson up and ready for school.

It is, of course, so very good to see Andrew, Alicia and Mr. T. . They have settled in here beautifully and we are grateful for any opportunity to spend a little quality time with this wonderful family.

Andrew, I am glad to say, is still very much committed to the best possible coffee technology and has now added an authentic Italian espresso machine to the mix. They both left the house early this morning for their school-teacher work, so I will be looking for a first-rate coffee experience Saturday.

Finally, pain or no pain; car, bus, train, boat or airplane; North Carolina or Michigan; Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall, if I am going to travel in any way then let it be with Rebekah.

The great gift in this life is that we have the opportunity to choose and to live and to make the best of any and every situation or place we find ourselves.

I especially appreciate today’s scripture from Deuteronomy: “I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice that you make: Oh, that you would choose life…”

Choose, and live. Every day, in every possible way. And, most importantly, choose life today – DEREK
