this is what I will leave us with for today's post, my question is always going to be this: "Does my life lead, guide, invite, people to know and to love the Creator Lord, and to follow in the Living Way of Jesus?"
Companion to the idea that we ask for just "three dollars worth of God" is the truth that we are more comfortable only offering God two dollars worth of ourselves.
Maybe the "guns don't kill, people kill" mantra should be amended to, "If you're in the mood to kill, a nice assault weapon certainly makes it a lot easier."
A family doesn't have to be homeless to be hungry. And - equally important to understand - a family, or a church, doesn't have to be rich to help.
Simply put, it's impossible to know everyone in this church as well as we'd like to - but we're willing to give it a try, and the intimacy of a shared meal is one of the best ways we know to invest ourselves in these beautiful lives.
