It’s always fun to travel together, to see new places, and to enjoy this beautiful world, but I have to admit I miss Scout when we’re gone! Not just the walks (and, boy, do I ever need to walk a few extra miles to counteract all that travel food!), but the “Aw, shucks, I just love you people” good nature of Scout Labradoodle’s positive approach to every moment of every day.
There’s something affirming about being unconditionally adored all day long, and something encouraging about being around a being who exudes gratefulness for life as a constant response.
To be honest, there’s a lot we could learn from Scout and her attitude. Yesterday’s post was about “simply being grateful,” so I do believe I’m on the right path. But I also understand that most of us have a long way to go if we want to be known as people with a disposition of gratitude that’s a defining characteristic.
Live is good! I enjoy everything about being alive! So I’ll say it again; it doesn’t hurt to repeat the same affirmation:
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations. (Pslam 100)

We feel the same way about our Black Pearl. Everyday I aspire to be as loving as my pooch. Of course I always fall way short. Pearl is frequently used as an example of positivity, contentment and acceptance for my kids, especially Sergei. I’m glad God made dogs! Can’t wait to say howdy to your Scout later this summer!
I just loved your blog today. I really miss my pup when I’m away. Hope all is going well and everyone arrives in Michigan safely. See you both soon. Peace ……Dawn
