Happy Monday, friends!
I’m rushing around from the RDU to PHL to PVD (airports) then ultimately to Naomi and Craig’s home in Moodus, CT. So just a few photos today and brief stories to go with them.
The opening shot was taken as Rebekah and I left Milton’s Wake Forest location Sunday evening. We wanted a quiet dinner together before I head out today and it was – as always – a beautiful experience of food and great conversation. I simply love long, conversational, dining with Rebekah. It’s always deep, and it’s always nurturing.
CHILDREN OF COVENANT: Next up is Sunday morning’s baptism. All baptism’s are special, but when it’s a six-year-old, and he understands some of what “Covenant Baptism” means, and he walks out into the congregation, holding Rebekah’s hand (picture below), then there are even more tears than usual.
Our congregation made promises right alongside the parents and grandparents. We are the extension of God’s love in this child’s life, we are the hands and feet of Jesus.

GOD’S WORD: Then, when Rebekah handed out Bibles to some of our third-grade students at the Praise Service, you could literally feel the joy and the anticipation as she placed God’s Word in their eager hands. Twelve had completed the “preparation for worship” class and they were so excited. Of course, Rebekah had a few personal words for each one. Love, love our children here!
LOVE: My fourth image is of the sign in Rebekah’s office. Jesus knows me, this I love. It’s a clever twist on the famous phrase, and – for both of us – it references one of the real joys that has been ours as we go deeper in our faith.

Jesus knows us… and he loves us anyway! Not just knows us, but knows us all the way to our bones, all the way to the essence of who we are, all the way to our hopes and dreams, our failures, our disappointments, our triumphs. Jesus KNOWS ME, this I love.
Stay tuned for more Life, Gratitude, Faith, & Passion from this week’s upcoming adventures with my grandchildren!
