blessed and grateful #WakeForestNC

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. – Colossians 3:16

So this is fall. This vivid juxtaposition of cold, sunshine, fallen leaves, and splashes of color – golds, yellows, greens, browns, a few purples, and unrestrained luminescent swarths of red.

This morning it is raining. Tomorrow, Thanksgiving Day promises blue skies and a high of 56. I absolutely love the autumn months in a way that reminds me of the excitement our first year here. Sometimes it is still “pinch me, are we really living in North Carolina?”

IMG_E7235I am grateful for this stunningly beautiful place, for the deeply alive and purposeful faith community that invited us here, for the town of Wake Forest, and for the privilege of living in the piedmont of North Carolina.

Tomorrow I may or may not have time to write, so let me take my stand today as a person living a thankful life, blessed beyond my wildest imagination, celebrating ThanksGratitude with my amazing family.

Peace, and more peace, “with gratitude in my heart, singing praise to God…” – Derek
