I wasn’t quite sure what to do with “Five Photo Friday” this week. This has been an interesting and varied few days, but I think I’ll keep it simple and dedicate the post to our grandchildren in Miami. They’ve been there a full week now and having David and Beks just two hours up Interstate 85 already seems like a distant memory. Sigh…
If you missed the news, the Campbell family has relocated to Miami (see, “And They’re Off!”). Craig is such an effective manager Trader Joe’s apparently feel they need his unique skillset in their expanding South Florida market, and they see a real future for him there. So we are not only heartbroken but proud at the same time.
So far our grandchildren have embraced the adventure. They’re excited, they love their new house and neighborhood, and everyone has been working hard to make this difficult “middle of the school year” move as positive as possible. Beks has even taken the school uniform thing in stride: that means a shift from her traditional more whimsical outfits (like rainbow unicorn tutus) to Miami’s required khaki and blue and white.
Of course it hasn’t hurt that the family can easily go to the beach or jump in the neighborhood pool once homework is done.
So please join me in praying for the Naomi and Craig Campbell family – the kids especially. And their grandparents too; we believe in them, we have every confidence this is going to be a great move, and we (Naomi and Craig too) have absolute faith and trust in God; but good grief it hurts, we already miss them like crazy.
Peace, and more peace – DEREK
