“Believe me,” Jesus said… “a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” – John 4:21-25
I have a lot to share with you today. Yes, I already posted some thoughts around the Twenty-third Psalm (Green Pastures, Still Waters…), and I may spend some time tomorrow talking about the really wonderful discussion I enjoyed with my Sunday school class.
Then there is the series of photographs I took in the church garden this morning, right before worship. But I will have to share those later.
For now I want to offer these images from worship. It is important to document this unusual time in our church history, so every week I look for a new angle when it comes to photography.
Pastor John helped by getting back to the “standing up to preach” posture. Then Katherine helped too by singing special music with the help of her daughter, Addie. John shared a good message, and the song was priceless. You can hear both at the video recording at the WFPC Facebook page (pay no attention to the “May 3” Banner. It really was this morning!!)
This is worship. This is Presbyterians in Wake Forest gathering together to praise God and to be together “In spirit and in truth.”
I am deeply grateful for the tenacity, the creativity, the faithfulness, the authenticity, and the quality represented in how we are doing church.
Enjoy these photos. I love to tell the story…
