Black and White Winter Photos from Wake Forest

For the beauty of the earth,
for the glory of the skies,
for the love which from our birth
over and around us lies.
Christ, our Lord, to you we raise
this, our hymn of grateful praise.

For the wonder of each hour
of the day and of the night,
hill and vale and tree and flower,
sun and moon and stars of light.
Christ, our Lord, to you we raise
this, our hymn of grateful praise.

Sunday morning, driving up Six Forks on my way home after church, I decided to check out one of the parks in the Falls Lake State Recreation Area. Even after eight and a half years in Wake Forest there is still a lot to explore.

I didn’t have much time, so I took a brief stroll down one of the trails. The air was clear and refreshing and I felt invigorated. I absolutely must come back with Max soon.

Looking at the trees, mostly denuded of leaves and stark in the glare of the cold winter sunlight, I thought this might be a good opportunity for a few black and white images.

I really do love the winter here in North Carolina. I love the architecture of nature. I love walking and just drinking it all in.

That’s it for this morning, I have a very busy “help my parents” schedule.

Peace and love – DEREK
