The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.

– Mr. T at the interactive exhibit
Saturday was our last full day in Michigan with the A-team and Mr. T.. It has been a busy week of setting up their home so we took a break, enjoying an unusually cool day (the high was 67) taking in a hands-on children’s science exhibit, walking the neighborhood, then capping the day with another al fresco dinner on Main Street downtown along with Cornhole, live music, pizza, and locally brewed beer.
– downtown Midland
What a great place.
Midland has a lot of the same vibe as Wake Forest; it’s a traditional self-contained town with an active center and a genuine sense of community.
The live music was most excellent; the pizza experience evocative of authentic Italian dining; the atmosphere here is friendly, celebratory, festive.
What a wonderful way to close out the week.
What do they say about this state? “Pure Michigan.” Sure thing… that’s it… pure.
I am looking forward to church together this morning. It is always a wonderful thing to worship as a family.

I really do want to get to know Mr. T. more, to spend time hanging around with my international grandson. And one day – maybe – I will get to share his beautiful smile with you. He is radiant. A real handful, yes, but the most angelic face ever.
