Jesus said: “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16
Just a quick follow up to yesterday’s post, “Let love and faithfulness never leave you” (it has already been viewed more than 3,000 times).
Saturday afternoon was equally lovely, and the ceremony went beautifully. Rebekah’s short message focused on the opportunity we all have – the responsibility – to let our light shine so that others are encouraged, to shine in such a way that we have a very real impact on the world around us.
It was a message crafted, of course, for the couple being married; but it is a timely word for each one of us.
The newlyweds certainly were luminous! The light and the life spilled all over the place and onto everyone there, on into an evening of continued celebration.
Let’s get out there and shine!

But enough with my words, I said most of the important stuff in yesterday’s post. Just enjoy the balance of the photographs. I know I have.
Plus, listen again to these amazing words from Jesus. You know he is speaking directly into the world he wants us to help heal today. You know he is speaking directly to you.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others!”
In gratitude and in love – DEREK

You are both looking so good! Aren’t we glad for the love and joy and hope of weddings??!!
Quite absorbing, thank you!
