Good morning, friends. This looks like, possibly, a day that will feature two posts. I have an early speaking commitment I need to prep for, so this is a good opportunity to share one more segment from the book I’m currently working on.
In the memoir, this part of the story covers my third date with Rebekah. I begin the narration by pointing out that I was unaware of her “Three strikes and you’re done, mister” rule. Little did I know the great Sword of Damocles was dangling somewhere over my head, hanging by a thread!
In general, I am 40,000 words and 170 pages into the manuscript.
I read this aloud a few days ago, for my own benefit. I wanted to hear how the story sounds, to see if there is any meter or poetry to it. Maybe you will enjoy it too? This episode is from 1977.
Regardless, here it is. Enjoy! DEREK
