“Beyond Beautiful” Photographs to take your breath away

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” – Augustine of Hippo

In the world of documenting vacations there’s no such thing as too many great photographs. There can, however, be too many for a blog post! Hence my challenge after our busy Sunday with the children here in and around the New River Gorge.

So I am limiting this to a sample of the pictures I grabbed on my phone. The Nikon images can wait.

Today’s photos cover worship in the beautiful Beckley Presbyterian Church, the overlook at the breathtaking New River Gorge Bridge, and the picturesque Sandstone Falls.

Our grandchildren have been wonderful. Thy are learning, paying attention, asking great questions, writing in their journals every day, grateful for all the experiences and being all around great company.

This short video gives a glimpse of the river:

Today – Monday – is a travel day, as we head into Northern Ohio and the roller coasters waiting for us at Cedar Point.

Along the way, we are also praying we run into a little less heat. Wherever we go, Rebekah and I plan for this time with the children to play out in the way Saint Augustine was imagining when we said that “The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page…”

None of that one page stuff for us, thank you. We’re in this journey for the whole volume, the entire book.

For today’s post, it’s pretty much just a picture book! – DEREK
