Back to the drawing board (sigh…)

– 622 Elmwood Court, Wake Forest

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28

So this week’s closing on the Wake Forest home fell through. We are of course extremely disappointed, but we have faith that everything will eventually fall into place.

However – and because the buyers dropped out late – our furniture has gone into storage (can’t unring that bell!). So Rebekah and I have followed up by completely emptying the house and cleaning everything the best we can.

As a result the listing will be reactivated this week (probably tomorrow) and the house should look even more inviting than before. We even have people coming in to freshen up the paint on the ground floor.

This, interestingly, is the first time either one of us has seen the house empty. When Rebekah first viewed the listing in 2013 it was occupied and stuffed to the gills with oversized furniture. Then when I drove to North Carolina to begin unpacking, the movers had already filled every room with our furniture and boxes.

People can’t really imagine what is possible unless, first, the space is emptied. So I pray that any potential buyers will come and see with their imaginations fired up and ready to go.

So here is what Maul-Hall Wake Forest looks like today. I pray that, soon, this good home is refilled with life and love and promise and beautiful people.

Peace and blessings, always, from our home to yours – DEREK

  1. Oh no! That is disappointing and can be stressful. The market seems to be moving so hopefully it won’t take long.

  2. Oh – so sorry to hear that. The photos of the empty interiors make everything look so roomy and those floors are just gorgeous! What you can’t see is all the wonderful memories you both created in that lovely home. Someone will walk in the front door and feel the good bones and the warmth that remains in the home. Prayers for the very perfect buyer sees the house soon!

    • Thanks, Resi. Was hoping to have this squared away before the Poland trip… but I guess not.
So… Christmas Even in Krakow??? I hear they have a nice organ!

      • House looks beautiful. There are companies that do staging. Ask your realtor if he/she thinks it would help sell your home and would be worth the cost.

  3. […] As a result, the Tyler Run house has never looked better and probably never been better. It is a wonderful opportunity for a young family to live in a beautiful home on a quiet cul-de-sac just a short walk from both the park and the town center. I believe it’s not only the best option available in Wake Forest but a solid investment, and they will be very happy there. (Click here if you haven’t seen how it looks). […]
