The strong love that holds this family together

Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and clings to his wife, and they become one flesh. – Genesis 2:24

A wedding weekend, of course, is so much more than just the ceremony. It’s the travel, the rehearsal, the brunch, the reception, the time away being pampered and overfed and enjoying some quiet moments together.

It’s being around family: the family you don’t get to see nearly enough, the family you seldom get to see and then the ones you had forgotten you enjoyed so much.

Rebekah and I are staying at the Founders Inn, part of the Regent University Campus in Virginia Beach. It’s a haven of quiet and peace in the middle of what has become a very busy city.

We had an Alexander-McMahan brunch at Tom’s house in the morning, then the afternoon wedding went off beautifully; it was joyful and emotional and beautiful and full with both laughter and tears.

There is so much to write about I will need to wait a couple of days to sort the photographs as well as my thoughts.

– grateful for this story

Today, then, I am simply going to share a handful of random images that help to tell a little bit of the story.

This morning we will be back at church for worship; not just because it’s our habit or our practice, but because God’s love is the foundation of everything that makes a weekend like this possible.

More about this when I share the balance of the photos. In love, and because of love – DEREK
