Telling the Story: September 2025 in 30 Photos

– the photography end of my blog

Sometimes, being a writer, I find myself caught up in the words and forget how much a photograph can contribute to telling a story.

Then the end of the month comes along and I get to select a representative sample and it always touches me in surprising ways.

Our visit with Rebekah’s brother, his wife Lynda and their pup… street scenes from our amazing historic district… Rebekah refinishing furniture… Max… fine dining experiences… lots of pics from the week-long sojourn to Orlando with the grandchildren… golf in Raleigh… foggy morning scenes around Tarboro… doing an official “photo-shoot” with HMPC’s new interim pastor, Betty (it’s probably not the one she will use, but I really like it) – and more.

September has been in many ways a memorable month. Personally, I would appreciate more quiet and predictability in October, so I can work on the memoir. But I won’t hold my breath.

Enjoy the photographs, and enjoy every moment that is to come. Life is a privilege and a blessing – DEREK
