“Spring is far more than just a changing of seasons; it’s a rebirth of the spirit.” —Toni Sorenson
(I plan to share something appropriate for Good Friday reflection later in the day.)
This has been one of those weeks where a lot of great photo opportunities come along – but without necessarily having stories to go with them.
I snagged the above image of the Tar River on an afternoon bike ride. I have – since last Saturday morning’s “First ride in 30 years” tried to get out every day, just to give the idea a fair shake before returning the bicycle to my friend Steve.
One thing I have noted from the vantage point of a bike is a different perspective looking at our town. It is impossible, however, to do any photography while trying to not fall off the bike!
Finally it’s been warm enough to have doors and windows open at every opportunity, to do projects on the porch (a.k.a.Rebekah’ Workshop) and to get the cars out for a wash. Everything is blooming, the wildflowers are coming up all over the place, Max has been enjoying the great outdoors, and the sunshine just brightens everything.
In short, this week has been both somber and reflective (as Lent winds down) and also one where all of creation seems to be in celebration mode.
We are blessed – DEREK
