This past week has included several posts featuring fairly deep content, so today I plan to ease back and simply share a few interesting images from Friday.
First (above) this early morning photograph from Friday’s ride with Tarboro Cycling. Temperatures were in the mid-50’s when we started, but it didn’t take much more than around fifteen minutes for the effort to begin to warm us. After the summer heat, the twenty-three miles gave me enough of a taste for fall that I am looking forward to some great cycling over the next couple of months.
I arrived home to find Gene and Robert (and Zeus) doing more prep work in the front garden prior to laying sod and putting in the plants and the mulch. They are also clearing out the hard to define area adjacent to the side entry so Rebekah can introduce more bedding plants and – hopefully – a bank of hydrangea.
Max spent the afternoon at the beauty parlor. He goes to see Kayleigh at “Country Paws.” She does a wonderful job with his coat and Max always enjoys his visit. It helps of course that he is probably the best behaved dog in the county.
The cooking photograph (in the gallery, below) is more about the pan than the mahi and the tuna. Rebekah and I are tired of throwing out coated non-stick cookware when it starts to break down. So this week, after a lot of research, we decided to go with one made of titanium. I’m still using my stainless for most cooking, but intend to pull this out for anything that calls for non-stick.
Finally, the Calvary church at night makes for a striking image.
Have a restful, peaceful weekend, friends. And make plans to be in church Sunday morning – you are always welcome at Howard Memorial. It’s not just the excellent preaching (especially here at HMPC), it’s the sense of balance that worship introduces to our lives. Not a bad exchange when you think about it – one hour of gratitude in a week bursting with blessings. – DEREK
