“Be glad” even if there is a hurricane bearing down; rejoice in the face of profound difficulties; take pleasure in God whenever and wherever we are…
Today, September 11, 2018, I’m concerned that we as a nation are facing a more sinister and complex long-term danger than we were seventeen years ago:
We are moving forward, back to The Garden.
Even my contemplation of faith is something that – ultimately – I have to do.
the very first thing we must question is our own assumptions – at the entry point to any exchange of views, conversation, or potential conflict.
Maybe our problem is that in order to believe in Jesus we have to stop believing in ourselves? Wasn’t that – isn’t that – the original sin? Believing in ourselves and walking right by the invitation Jesus so graciously extends?
Here is what God promises: “Whatever happens, I’m going to be with you, you can count on it” (Psalm 23 and Matthew 28). Jesus said, “For (God) gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike” (Matthew 5:45).
