One of the great joys in life is to witness and be a part of passion and enthusiasm. Maybe that is why I love children so much, and why I feel so encouraged and filled up when I attend our church – it’s the undeniable, irrepressible, authentic spirit of life.
It’s always exciting to be part of something that is alive, dynamic, full with enthusiasm, and growing. This has been true consistently in the faith communities Rebekah and I have been privileged to call home.
It’s like God has taken Beks and David, kissed them with joy, and poured liquid light into them. The light emanates from every pour as they run and play with such natural ebullience.
This is good stuff! This is what I’m talking about when I say life is rich, and good, and a gift I’m constantly grateful for.
There’s a verse in the Old Testament that tells a story all by itself. “Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him” (Genesis 5:24). What a great summary of a life. If someone is able to say that about me, in response to how I live, then I believe I will have lived well.
