photo-shoot on the Greenway #TooCuteForWords

For the beauty of the earth
For the beauty of the skies
For the love
which from our birth
Over and around us lies
Over and around us lies
Lord of all to thee we raise
This our joyful hymn of praise... – John Rutter

1-DSC_1148Saturday turned out to be one of those spectacular pre-spring days where being outside was essentially mandatory.

So I took the grandchildren for an afternoon walk on the Neuse River Greenway, our portion of North Carolina’s Mountains to Sea Trail, followed by some vigorous playtime at the neighborhood Tyler Run Park.

At the last minute I grabbed my Nikon DSLR, and that turned out to be a good call. I hadn’t planned on a photo-shoot but it just happened. I’m so pleased with the results I’m going to throw in a sampling of the best images below. Just click on the first picture then run through the slides.

1-IMG_E3487I love this time of the year. It’s still deliciously cool but the promise of spring is everywhere. The promise of the future, too – and that would be our grandchildren.

“Lord of all to thee we raise, this our joyful hymn – our grateful hymn – of praise.”

I pray that these make your Monday morning more joyful – DEREK
